Festive December Events in Metro Detroit Holiday themed markets, lighted strolls, and more! With the kids out of school and family in town, DOBI has compiled a list of a few of our favorite Metro Detroit holiday events! Wildlights at the Detroit Zoo Friday-Sunday and select weeknights Now – January 8th Wild Lights is the Detroit Zoo’s annual holiday light display which has become a holiday tradition for people all across the state. Guests will enjoy masterfully designed light displays that illuminate many areas of the zoo. New this year is the Enchanted Trial and Wild Lights Lodge. Guests can also enjoy the Polar Express 4D experience, Toyland and Wishing Tree, and much more! Tickets are available for $17-$65. Image Credit - Instagram @meadowbrookhall Holiday Walk at Meadow brook Hall Now – December 23rd (excludes Mondays) Grab your family and celebrate the season at the Meadow Brook Holiday Walk! Experience the wonder of more than 50 magnificent trees—including a 10-foot tall Poinsettia tree created by 150 live plants, dazzling trimmings, and lights galore! Meadow Brook Hall’s annual Holiday Walk brings the magic of the season alive for everyone to enjoy. Tickets range from $10-$22 and are available here. Holiday Markets at Eastern Market Sundays in December & Saturday, December 24th Looking for a fun and unique option for your holiday shopping? In addition to Eastern Market’s year-round market on Saturdays, they have additional Sunday markets for all of your holiday shopping needs. The Sunday dates feature plenty of Michigan-made gift options including clothing, art, jewelry, beauty products, and more. On Christmas Eve, the Saturday Market will be open from 6 AM – 1 PM for last-minute shopping for gifts and holiday meal ingredients. BYOB Christmas Trolley Thursday – Sunday every week in December For something more adult-themed, grab a group of friends, pack your cooler, dust off that ugly Christmas sweater, and explore some of the most extravagant Christmas Lights Metro Detroit has to offer on the Traditional Christmas Trolley or the decked-out Grinchmas Bus! Reservations range from $89-$99. Magic of Lights at Pine Knob Music Theater Everyday – December 31st Pine Knob Music Theater’s “Magic of Lights” is a beautiful drive-through holiday lights experience featuring holiday scenes and characters of the season using the latest LED technology and digital animations. You will have the opportunity to experience the Magic of Lights through the comfort, warmth, and safety of your own car as you wind through the sparkling path of Metro Detroit’s newest holiday tradition! Tickets range from $20-$50 and can be purchased here. Holiday Stroll at Canterbury Village Fridays – Sundays in December Canterbury Village’s Holiday Stroll is known for being one of the most memorable experiences of the holiday season. Canterbury Village transforms into a winter wonderland to provide an authentic holiday setting that brings the spirit of Christmas to life! This family-friendly event is hosted outdoors where you stroll through the quaint Village that is glowing with almost a million festive lights. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on their site.
