Our August brokerage meeting was a big one for DOBI–it was our 5 year anniversary as well as the day we unveiled our new and improved brand refresh to our agents and to our audience on social. We kicked off the meeting with a word from Brass Lending, our in-house lending company.

Josh Jardin from Brass went over their capabilities vs. other lending companies. They’re what’s called an “independent mortgage broker” which means that lending agents at Brass are able to shop to 15 different banks providing the best overall situation to any given buyer. Additionally, if DOBI agents use Brass, things move along more quickly since everything is all under one roof.

Josh reported that rates have gone up recently, and in July federal rates were bumped up to cool off inflation further.

DOBI CEO Simon Thomas kicked off his portion of the meeting by talking about our 5-year anniversary and what we’ve done to get where we are today. DOBI is always looking to grow and change, and never get stuck in one place. Creating a great team, culture, and fantastic experiences for agents is what we’re always aiming for!

Simon went in-depth talking about how the market right now is a very difficult one for agents to thrive in. You’re doing less units overall, but each unit is also worth more, so it becomes about really putting your all into every deal. During this time, it’s also important that we come together and weather the storms. Talk with fellow agents about what’s worked for them and what doesn’t.

Business is picking up, but rates are rising as well, so it’s a new challenge. Tough times are around the corner, but if you mentally prepare and ask for advice, you can get through anything.

Our Big Wave winner is peer-nominated by agents and staff. This month the award was given to DOBI agent Craig Joeright. Everyone was super appreciative to him for opening up his cottage for the recent “DOBI Boat Day”!

Best in Class is given to the DOBI staff member representing our core values, peer-nominated by fellow agents and staff. This month our winner goes to Leah Vanderhoff in our Agent Success department. She’s been doing an amazing job supporting agents with help on getting their listings live, ordering signs, and so much more!

Our Broker’s Choice award is nominated to the agent who has made a difference that month and caught our broker’s eye. The broker’s choice award goes to Marian Grout and Alex Lannen! As our deal flow support people, they’ve been doing a fantastic job fielding questions from all of the DOBI agents during the month of July.  

Our Grit Award winner, given to the agent with the most units sold, was DOBI Agent Nicole McAvoy. She closed 7 units in the month of July. Congratulations, Nicole!

Our Top Dog this month, for the individual with the highest sales volume goes to Daniel Naurato! Last month he did over 4.2 Million in sales with a total of 2.5 units!

Our Top Dog winner for the group with the highest sales volume goes to The Nelson Team. They had a sales volume of over 3.8 Million with 3.5 units. Keep up the great work!
