September Brokerage Award Winners

Keep going, and above all, work for your client!

Happy OCTOBER! We can’t believe how fast this year has flown by, but we are ready to head into Q4 and finish this year out strong.

We kicked off the meeting with Jon Aucott, from Superior National Bank. He touched on the comeback of 2-1 buydowns, but warned that with interest rates going down they may not be the best financial decision. Jon talked about the importance of informing your clients how property taxes increase after the purchase of a home. This is an important factor that not everyone is aware of and can substantially change the decisions that clients make. Lastly, Jon explained re-casting, which is essentially a refinance with the key difference being you keep the same interest rate. He warns that you have to be strategic when doing these because you can only re-cast once during the life of the loan. Big thanks to Jon for the insight into the mortgage world!

DOBI CEO, Simon Thomas, shared the importance of staying tough and not letting fear steer your decision making. When you run into issues, it’s okay to ask for help. This is especially true at DOBI since we have a great team of deal flow support and staff members with a variety of life experiences and qualifications they can draw from. He emphasized goal setting as well. It’s important to set your goals big and stay consistent in your approach to reaching them. Keep going, try not to focus too much on perception, and above all else, work for your client!
